Introduction

Hello Everyone, My name is Raven Shepardson. I was named after Edgar Allen Poe’s poem “The Raven”. I find that being named after such an amazing poem, that is where I get my creativity. I have been writing poetry since I was 15 years old and it is such a releasing form of letting go of all your feelings. My hope is that when you read my words that they touch and inspire you.

Yeoman, U.S. Coast Guard
(2001 – 2021)
I joined the U.S. Coast Guard in October of 2001 and went to boot camp in November 2001 at the age of 22. I have been stationed in New Jersey, Virginia, Alabama and Louisiana. Out of all the units and places I got to go I love Louisiana most. As a Yeoman in the Coast Guard I completed all administration paperwork for the members keeping them paid and their information updated. I truly enjoyed the job I did. I miss being a part of the Coast Guard active duty family but it is time for new adventures.
